description
This amazing fossil displays two Asteroceras confusum 53mm & 36mm, two Xipheroceras dudressieri 25mm & 22mm, four Promicroceras planicosta 21,18,12 & 9mm. The two Asteroceras have been predated on, maybe a juvenile Ichthyosaur ? The living chamber is the most vulnerable to these attacks with an easy meal with one bite. Andy Cowap has pioneered the thinking regarding attacks on both Promicroceras and Asteroceras in Andy's private collection he has a small Asteroceras with half an Ichthyosaur tooth embedded within part of the living chamber. The quality of the ammonites are magnificent throughout, every one being solid calcite. This stunning fossil has taken many hours of preparation perfectly executed by Andy Cowap. The smallest ammonite also has a bite attack in its living chamber. Overall a stunning and very rare fossil. Approximately 200 million years old.
