description
A stunning specimen with wonderful detail throughout. The ancient shark to which this tooth belonged is a shark with a jaw of teeth evolved for crushing shellfish as part of its diet. Prepared on a block of chalk this specimen was collected in victorian times. These Ptychodus teeth are becoming very scarse to obtain. One for the serious collector of fossilised UK shark remains.
