Alongside this beautifully preserved solid calcite ammonite lies a stunning fossil branch which is excessively rare in the Oolite. The branch is extremely well preserved and has wonderful detail throughout, this belongs to the Conifer family. The ammonite has super detail and has an immaculate centre. The branch overlies a Belemnite Rostrum which too, has been preserved in dark brown calcite. A wonderful multi assemblage for the serious collector. Fossils Direct are constantly striving to bring our customers old and new, the very finest prepared and rare fossils from around the UK. Prepared by Andy Cowap, approximately 172 million years old.

This superb example still retains most of its dark brown shell and has a pinpoint immaculate centre. The ammonite has been prepared by Andy Cowap and has taken many hours. There is also a Belemnite guard next to the ammonite which completes the overall aesthetics. The fossil was discovered in a temporary exposure in 1997. The matrix has a cut and level base for upright display and is approximately 172 million years old.
