A superb multi promicroceras fossil where all the ammonites are preserved in solid light brown calcite. One of the ammonites has a predation bite mark taken out of it either by a Dapedium or Furo, two predatory fish around at this time, these small ammonites would have made an easy meal. A beautiful and aesthetic addition for the collector of fine fossils. Approximately 200 million years old.
Approximately 208 million years old, specimens of this very rare calcified ammonite don't get much better than this. Prepared by Andy Cowap to its maximum potential, a real collectors piece has emerged with only a fragment showing before preparation. Collected in 1967 from a locality which has long since been restricted to collectors, this wonderful specimen would fit into any serious collection. A classic rarity from the most Westerly Lias outcrop in Europe.
